It's seems like only yesterday i'm involved myself in the event that firstly i lead as the project director. Ya, the event named Bandung English Speech Contest, an english speech contest among senior and vocational student in Bandung and also Cimahi. Before doing this event, with some of my friends who were inconsolidated in a group of PR-EVENT, one of my subject in Public Relations Study Program, we were running for Anugerah Film Bandung, but what to say, the event was cancelled because some reason that i myself honestly don't want to telling you, but i think i need. Well, actually Anugerah Film Bandung is a great and big event, the problems were we had not enough time to find more participants and also sponsor to make this event come true. I could remember that on early December 2013, when we were sure that it is impossible to continueing Anugerah Film Bandung, i tried to find another ideas to change the event and create the new one. Some of my friends told me that they want to create a seminar, but i didn't agree with that becaused i've held the seminar with my team in PR-Campaign, which is the event called Dont Take My Crown or in bahasa is " Jangan Renggut Mahkota ku " and that was succes even we were SOLD OUT for the ticket. What's the matter if i expected something more than that ? Another ideas also came, my friends Rika and Tia who are wanted to create a dance competition, then i let them to make the concept and the program of that dance contest, while my team also waiting for tomorrow, the day when we must decide which event we will going to create to change AFB which is cancelled. I propose my ideas to make the english speech contest, but still, no one agree with my ideas. As i back from my campus at that time, i tried to make the concept of my own ideas about an english speech contest. In the middle of the night on December 17th 2013, i made the event that i named it by myself that is Bandung English Speech Contest which is i also called it as BESC. Without asking my team agreement, i made the twitter account of BESC and also it's facebook account. On the morning, when we held a meeting concerning to decide what event we will going to run next, i show to some of my friends in my team about the event that i recently create, Bandung English Speech Contest. With my ego, i tried to convince them that this event will getting a good responses from many school in Bandung. Thank God, my team agree and would love to run my ideas. :))

After everyone agree with this event, we decided to publish the event via online first because on 19th December, school were in a holiday agenda. As a leader of this event, i have so many responsibility, of course to direct my friends in my team to do what their job descriptian and specificatioan are. Something that made the event interesting was about the publication that we did first through social network such twitter and facebook. On the day we were meeting, i asked to all of my friends in my team to logged in to their own twitter account then mentioned all school account and attach the poster of the event. We opened the registration for this event started from 19 December 2013 until 15 January 2014. As long as we posted the publication on twitter, we just got some retweet from some school we were mentioned, until 06th of January 2014, we were worried, a great worry because it's been more than a week but we still haven't any contestant who wanna join the event, some of them just asked about information only concerning to the event. I decided to doing more publication to some school although on January 06th 2014 was the first day school starts their learning time after holiday. A day after publication to some school, again, we still in a great worry because what we've planned for this event wasn't reached. The amount of contestant we've planned is 50 contestant, but on 08th January, we still have six contestants who wanna join the event while the deadline for registration will be closed on 15th January 2014, so how many days left road to the closing of registration ? Ya ! only a week left and we still need more than 40 contestant, oh GOD !

Let's continue to the third paragraph, after waiting for many time and getting closer to the last day of registration, i don't know what is this called, may be this is one of the blessing from my God, Allah SWT, suddenly there were so many contestant and school who were contacted us and wanted to registered their students for competting in the Bandung English Speech Contest. That was a BIG WOW ! Yeah, right, even my friend, Gina Prasatia who as the Contestant Coordinator couldn't believe that we almost sold out for reaching 50 contestant on the last day of registration. Based on the commitment we declared at the first we create this event, with a perforce felling, we close the registration and rejected some student and school who still wanted to involved their students joining the Bandung English Speech Contest. Honestly, i wanted to accept them and so do with the team at Bandung English Speech Contest, but what could we say ? we must held the qualification for a day, and we've counted the duration of contest for the first session, it just enough for a day. So, as an amateur event organizer who were tried to be a professional EO, we limit and consistent to make it only for 50 contestant. Then, after having the contestant of Bandung English Speech Contest, we held the technical meeting on 18th of January 2014, some contestant came and attended the technical meeting which is hosted by my friend as MC, Anggi Silviani, i asked her to full speak english as long we held the technical meeting. But, you know what ? There were so many questions from the teachers and students who were joined the technical meeting, luckilly, there was Mrs. Tetti besides me, one of judges at Bandung English Speech Contest who could answer the questions and explained all rules of the contest. Technical meeting is done, and we were ready for preparing the first round, thank again because i have some good friends who helped me prepared the hall road to the qualification 1 of Bandung English Speech Contest.

Time seems like a water for a thirsty man, it's moved so fast, we reach the day of qualification 1 and you know what, here is the day that we were waiting for. From the twitter and also facebook fan page that i made, there were so many contestant and some audiences who can't really wait the qualification day. Ya ! this id the day where all contestant gathered and met each other in competting the speech contest ! As i can remember, the first contestant who performed is Hilman Misbah from SMKN 13 Bandung, and the last one is Sunarti Dianatasha from, i am sorry i think i forgot where is she came from. But, as i wacthed the qualification 1 of Bandung English Speech Contest, i felt so WOW ! All of the cntestant have a great skill in delivering their speech. I still can remember some of my favorite contestant, they are Lavio Dwipa Z from SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung, Michelle Yolanda from SMAK 1 BPK PENABUR Bandung, Rahma Nurita from SMAN 2 Cimahi Bandung, Abdul Hadi Achmad from SMA PGII 1 Bandung, Bintang Ramadhani from SMA BPI 1 Bandung, and many more ! I thought that when i was in my vocational school and joined some speech contest, my skill wasn't as good as them, really. That's why i am so surprised and amazed by all of them. After having the qualification 1 of Bandung English Speech Contest, the judges decided to put top 10 of contestant who will going through the final session and added by three judges choices, so it's gonna be 13 contestant who will compete in the final session. Really, i waant to tell you more and more about this Bandung English Speech Contest, but there are so many things to do, so i will make it short. The final session held on 28th of January 2014, i gave the preface at the beginning of the final round, the MC was Sukma and Anggi, and there was something special because my best friend performed his great voice in the final round, ya, Deni Faisal brought the song from Whitney Houston, titled The Greatest Love of All, one of my favorite song. Besides deni, there also Eka who brought the song from Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me and a great dance performance from Daniel Santoso, my friend from L3END, a dance club in my campus. Top 13 shown their best performance as they compete in the final round. The judges, Mrs. Teti and Mrs. Dien from ECD also Mrs. Sutinah from LBPP LIA have decided who are the winner of Bandung English Speech Contest. The result is, Michelle Yolanda from SMAK 1 BPK PENABUR Bandung as the 1st winner, the 2nd winner is Rahma Nurita from SMAN 2 Cimahi, and the t3rd winner is Regi Pratama from SMKN 14 Bandung. While for the favorite contestant, we have Reyza Arif M. N from SMA TARUNA BAKTI Bandung, Dyantie Nur Azizah from SMAN 2 Cimahi and Lavio Dwipa Z from SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung. Well, congrats guys ! Thanks all particpiants, media relations (kacamatasejati.com and LBPP LIA Martadinata Bandung) for supporting our event, thanks to all of my friends, thanks to my campus Politeknik LP3I Bandung, i hope next year, there will be the Bandung English Speech Contest 2015 ! :)
